Please note: Flat back gems are the only ends we carry that are foil backed. Without the foil backing, they would have no shine since there are no facets on the back of the stone. Although uncommon with quality jewelry companies, with foil backed gems, if moisture gets between the foil and the stone, they gem can appear to change color. Again, flat back gems are the only ends we carry that are foil backed. If you would rather avoid this, but need something low profile, we would recommend a pave set gem disk or a flat opal or stone cabochon in a bezel setting.
